Surprise, Surprise Rollie knows Rollie best!

So i took Rollie's little test and knew all the answers but out of a strong moral belief i refused to but that his website is godly, cause sorry rollie umm... NO. Well I just finished writting my coats paper, 2 typed pages on 3 1/2 minutes of a movie, wow im impressed with myself. :People keep asking me about it so well im just gona put it up here.

The Internal Monologue

War is hell. In the establishing shot of Apocalypse Now we are thrown into Captain Willard’s world in Viet Nam. In the opening scene we hear the sound of helicopters that create a subtle feeling of impending doom. The movie then shows the audience a serene view of trees and we hear the helicopter approaching which creates a feeling of incoming disaster. As the Doors “This is the End” begins to play it attempts to distract the viewer from the feeling of approaching evil. As the first verse of the song begins (this is the end), an explosion occurs; this is the end of the denial the world allowed its self to feel the situation in Viet Nam. The destruction had begun.
As the shot fades into Captain Willard the audience sees that he has become a part of the destruction. The war is all he has left. It is in his mind and thoughts without the war and his role in it he doesn’t know who he is. As Captain Willard is superimposed into the scene the background fades away. The audience begins to see the world through Captain Willard’s eyes.
The audience sees the ceiling fan spinning with the noise of the helicopter in the background. The helicopters in the establishing shot represent the conflict in Viet Nam. Like the helicopters in the establishing shot the fan blades represent Captain Willard’s internal battle with himself and his role in the conflict. As the images continue to dissolve and fade into other images the audience sees Captain Willard lying on the bed with a cigarette in his mouth. The cigarette can be compared to the fire. The cigarette is like the destruction he assisted in; the destruction he has internally brought on himself.
The audience then gets a glimpse of a glass of liquor; it is put there to shows the audience how Captain Willard is trying to cope with the destruction he realizes exists. The struggle Captain Willard has with himself cause him to try and ignore it, he turns to alcohol to push his feelings aside. The liquor can be paralleled to the music in the establishing shot that tries to distract the viewer away from the destruction they should anticipate. They know the war is happening but as long as they don’t see it, it is out of sight out of mind.
At the very end of this scene the audience sees a gun lying on the bed. The gun is a cause of destruction. In Viet Nam the firing from the helicopters was the cause of death and destruction. In Captain Willard’s mind the gun is how he caused death and destruction. Captain Willard is a soldier and it is his duty to destroy; however, while knowing this is his purpose, he is humane and feels guilty for the atrocities he has participated in.
In the first three and a half minutes of Apocalypse Now, there is abundant imagery. The audience sees Captain Willard’s perception of the decline of humanity in Viet Nam. Captain Willard’s views are clearly expressed to the audience through several objects and the way in which they tie him to the war. There are parallels drawn between the external reality of the war in Viet Nam and Captain Willard’s internal conflicts.

well im off to go do other homework, goodnight :)

Doughnuts

Prom... now where do I begin...well I had a lot of fun, catie was wearing my dress but I can deal with that. I had one big issue with the prom and our school, we got to mingle with complete strangers. But whatever. Why don't I skip ahead to the important parts Prom King and Queen. We are one of the few who will be able to tell their children that their high school prom king was a girl. On the way out of prom the math teachers would have been so proud, there was dancing with numbers. Now after prom came the real excitement, we can thank the alcohol for that. Well I'll just point out the big things, naked girls in the pool and not just any girls one of them was sweet little stacey. Then there were the incidents involving Erica and Alex, but we won't get into that now. Now this next thing really says something about us, even when were plastered were intelligent and playing literary word games. I still can't believe my head didn't hurt this morning.

The Mustang Tried to Kill Me!!!

Apparently the day before prom no one comes to school, I don't blame them. Well I was there and that makes me special (or stupid):) But when I tried to leave school The Mustang had other intentions for me ...dun dun dun... I was sitting on the hood of the car minding my own business and it began moving when I went to get off it sped up, and I went tumbling off. I thought The mustang liked me but this just proves, you can't trust of FORD (not that I'm a cluts or anything).

I finally did it!

So, Rollie finally did it. He convinced me to make a live journal so he (and everyone on the internet) would know everything about me (like he already doesn't). Well from now till forever I've joined the computer generation. You should all feel special I don't keep a real journal but I know have one up here to tell everyone my deepest, darkest feeling oooooo. We're assuming I'll be honest :)
